Atmos Fold-Down & Stereo Derivative Mastering

Stereo is still the majority of streams. When a stereo version is folded down from an Atmos mix without care, the result is often quieter, phase-smeared and noticeably weaker than the immersive one.

Where fold-downs go wrong

Automatic fold-down sums objects and beds mathematically. Correlated content cancels, low end loses weight, and centre elements collapse forward. We check phase relationships across the fold and correct the mix before the stereo derivative is generated.

Mastered as its own release

Once the fold-down is clean, it gets a dedicated mastering pass — tonal balance, dynamics and loudness targeted for stereo streaming — so listeners on either version hear a finished record.
